It’s amazing that it’s so simple on the surface, but yet if you want more capabilities, they’re right there just waiting for you. I can make a simple list of things to do, and it’s super easy with Voice mode and the NEXT button. Or I can make a separate page for projects, with scheduled dates.and detail in the notes. I can have a separate page for my Mom’s needs, and they pop-up in my FIRE list. I’d like to attach contacts, and I wish it went one level deeper for more complex projects. But I really wish it had a report that I could review at the end of the day to look at all my glorious accomplishments using this simple, elegant tool. I’d gladly pay for these extra features, but I’m happy that it does 95% of what i need just the way it is! Kudos to your skills in design and execution.
A great app & my most used app. I couldn’t live without it- use it throughout each and every day for work, personal, and household. Easy to use, very customizable. Developer is easy to contact, work with, and fast to respond.
This is exactly what I was looking for!!!! Disclaimer - I am not using or wanting to use it to integrate with calendar or reminders at this point, just using it to make lists for different categories in my life. Love: can move items in order of priority within list, can “star” items, but most of all LOVE: can click on “priorities” see all “star” items from different categories at once - basically the stuff I have to do today!!! My priorities!!!! Looking at individual lists helps me get organized mentally and not overwhelmed, but priorities lists helps me not to forget what I have to do today. This is amazing!!!! Well worth the money!!! Thank you developer!!! It is also clean and simple - not overwhelming to look at or learn.
Great app that I’ve been using for years, but really need Dark Mode support.
Easy use for those not proficient with computers, Apps and Smartphones. If your are always in a time crunch you can add your list setup alerts in a few minutes. Good Job.
I would love this application if it had one feature. You cannot add multiple sub-tasks within a sub-task. I love that you can create templates. This app is easy to use and the work flow makes sense. I pay a monthly fee to Todoist because it has this feature. Outside of that I much prefer priorities.
Simply stated the very best task manager! This blows all the others out of the water. One time purchase and cloud services forever. Did I mention office365 and outlook integration.
I rarely write reviews but I have used this app for years and it is the best!!! I have tried others including Apple Notes, an Excel Spreadsheet and so many other apps I have lost count, but none of them can hold a candle to this app! It becomes however you want to use it. I like simplicity and to be able to see at a glance all that I am working on or need to do. I can see it and add or delete items on my iPad, iPhone, and even my iMac! I also teach my adult Mac classes that this is the app they need to track doctor’s appointments and even taking their pills! Do not question the fact that only 5 people have reviewed - this must be an update. I can attest that his app has been around for years and is one of the best I have ever owned!!! Congratulations to the inventor of this app - an awesome program! Thank you!
This app is easy to use and keeps things simple. Enough to manage your priorities!
This app is my go to for any important reminders, and day to day tasks. If your anything like me, you’re a busy person and have so much on your mind, this app helps you organize, remember and keep track of all the wonderful things you need to take care of in your busy life. I’ve been using this app for about a year now and use it every day to checkup on what needs to be done in either my personal, professional, or social life. I love it!
Needs Apple Watch
Oct 14, 2019 2:16AM YES I AM STILL UP AND WRITING A lN UPDATED REVIEW OF THIS APP!!! STILL THE BEST AND WOULD GIVE IT MORE THAN 1 STARS!!! - BUT... Couldn’t live without this app!!! But, some bugs introduced in IOS 13. Sometimes can’t check off completed tasks without clicking on task and then clearing task. Also, when clicking star, sometimes will not resort stars to top. Have to go into any task then it will resort. BUT THIS IS MY MOST / ONLY USED TASK MANAGER ON MY IPHONE! I have discovered the power of many ancillary functions. I set up a nested LIFE SYSTEMS task to capture repeated task structures to my improve business and life systems. SUGGESTED IMPROVEMENTS / QUESTION -Would Like to have colored stars that are sortable within a task group. KEEP UP THE GREAT DESIGN WORK!!! vvvvv ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW vvvvv This is the first review I have EVER written for the app store. The Priorities app replaced a paper system I used for years. In case you think I am not a Visionary because I used a paper system, even though I am an IT professional, I am. In fact, around 1981, I and other partners, in another company we started in Chicago in 1979, were able to meet with Apple executives at the Drake Hotel to discuss our vision for Apple in our community-oriented application. I started using Apple products from the beginning of my IT career and have recently returned to the Apple environment. The Priorities app is just one of the reasons I have returned to the Apple community. I would give this app 10 stars if I could!!!! It is, as other reviewers have said, easy to use and intuitive. I have tried many task-organizational software solutions over the years. NONE of them "fit the bill". NONE! The PROS for this product are documented in other reviews. Read them and ditto them for me while reading my review. The cloud sync function could be faster, but eventually Priorities syncs my tasks. (I have hundreds of tasks and sub tasks). I AM SO THANKFUL THAT THE DEVELOPERS OF THIS APP RELEASED THIS PRODUCT. It has already saved me much time and frustration and will save me many hours in the future and will allow me to keep track of the hundreds of tasks I am managing. This is a huge productive gain for me! Recommendation: Buy it if you have any task lists you need to manage! Period! It is amazingly adaptable to your lifestyle. Enjoy! PS Having over 25 years experience in project organization and design, this is the one I would have written and wish I did. I am looking forward to their future enhancements of Priorities. They have me as a client for life and I hope they become wealthy from this app.
They just fixed some bugs but created a bigger one. The monthly calendar where you put in the due date for a priority is completely messed up. FIX IT!!!!!!
I have really enjoyed using Priorities. From simple grocery list, to the To Do lists, or Gift lists you can go crazy with lists. If you are a list person this APP is for you. Also, with Family share on iPhone you can share lists with family. Everyone can add to that grocery list. Great app highly recommend.
I love this app but since the latest IOS upgrade there seems to be a functionality bug for the iPad (which worked just fine prior to the update). Please get it fixed! I use your app all the time on my iPad.
Editing function does not work when moving items from one list to another. Very frustrating.
Great app, use it religiously But.... Still Waiting For . . . IWATCH Support!!!
I think I tried out 20 different list apps. Was looking for something that was simple in design and that would sync with my devices. This app blew me away! It’s perfection! I love the priority star, completion date and note section for each line item. I love being able to see completed tasks crossed out instead of having it deleted. The completion date is EVERYTHING! Please don’t change anything!
I have been using this app for years. I have tried other apps the help me organize and I keep coming back to this one. If you are a list maker, this is your app. The app allows you the make lists with multiple levels. It is also very flexible, allowing you to move items easily.
Feb 2018: According to my purchase history, I've been using Priorities since October 2011. I've tried multiple ToDo/GTD systems over the years, but I've always come back to Priorities. My only wish for the app is to able to go another level or two deep into subcategories.
I have been using this app for years and even though I am constantly testing out different to do list calendar apps, I have to say this one is by far the most functional for my needs. From tracking bills to errands to daily tasks to projects to reminders to appointments to basic shopping lists (tip save the deleted items from your shopping list and simply uncheck when making a new list) I use this app almost exclusively for planning my life and business. However, it needs its own calendar view by hour, week, and month vs having to open a 2nd app that doesn’t allow for moving things around. And! Drag and drop from day to day and even between time slots would save so much time changing entries manually. And if you really want to stomp the competition let me sort one list by due time and another alphabetically and another by category or whatever. Vs having to choose. But the calendar view with drag and drop time/date is a must that is well past time to do. I stuck with Apple almost entirely for this app (it was definitely a factor if not the only reason) so show me the same love. 😜😎🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
I’m on the 12.9 iPad Pro and this app looks slightly way to big. I’d like the choice to lower the apps resolution, and you allow drag and drop of items. Maybe even a theme changer. This app is very simple and basic, but definitely needs a few upgrades to become a simple tasks app. Keep the updates coming.
Great app for storing items and subtasks. You can create as many lists as you want and switch between them easily. With other apps I have to try to figure out how they want me to think - with Priorities I put the app to work the way I want it to. Great backups and exports. I've been using it daily for years, for everything from groceries to project planning.
I’ve been using this app for a couple of years now, and I love it! I like that I can have different categories for my lists, reminders, recurring topics, etc This is a very versatile program and can be modified as my life changes
Take a task and break it down to the Action items then simply touch to make them disappear once done. Examples: Get car services 1) find dealer phone number 2) call and setup appt 3) arrange for my wife to pick me up I use it all the time for a grocery list. You can enter items using your voice or let the keyboard auto fill with only a few letters I wish there was a Watch version so I could leave my phone in my pocket, an awesome app
Still the best. This is my favorite and most-used app by far. Extremely well designed, and has managed to stay that way though years of update while other apps get bloated and slow. —- Installed the latest version, holding my breath. Appears to work great. Very grateful this app exists, it’s an essential part of my life now.
I’ve been using for years. Well maintained by publishers. More hierarchy for sub folders would be my only request. It’s an app for sore eyes, makes organizing fun.
I’ve been using this app daily for over three years now. My only complaint is that it only allows one sub- level. if it allowed multiple sub levels, it would be a 5+.
I use this app everyday to manage my client jobs. The one thing I need for it to be perfect is an additional subcategory level under the subcategory.
Would be great to have some more alert options like a nag setting that will keep alerting me until I complete the task.
Not too simple not too advanced. Just everything you need and well executed. I have tried all the top and many of the other Todo apps and I was always coming back to this one. That's it I am done. Strengths: universal app, swipe between lists, web access Developers, you should raise the price if ever you feel your business model is hurting. I will pay a monthly fee of $2 if you promise to keep it the way it is and ensure it doesn't ever go away. If you feel the need to improve please only do little tweaks, but keep the main workflow the same, your app is amazing. 🙌 Thank you, well done.
Completely intuitive, learned it in a minute. No complex bells and whistles, almost exactly what I would do on paper. I would only wish for... A symbol for a task started but not finished A symbol and date for a task delegated The ability to assign and sort by priorities, rather than by dates or stars But still definitely five stars for simplicity and effectiveness.
I am updating my review. It still gets a 5-star rating. My review was 4 years old so I want to show that I am still using this app. I haven’t needed to look for a new app, even though my life is vastly different than it was almost 5 years ago. And the thing I love most is that it works for all types of people. The users range from people in business, to shoppers, to teachers, to stay at home parents, to young people prioritizing their term papers versus their work hours. Here is a piece of my review from 4 years ago that certainly still applies: I love this app. I was searching among apps and a review of a lesser app had Priorities listed as the reason the person left the other app. Have I said I love this app? If you have ever read the book by David Allen called, 'Getting Things Done,' this is the app that can help you achieve that. It isn't lists. It is projects, tasks, and subtasks, all with alarm options and ways to bring it to your attention in the way and time that works for you. Thank you, Priorities!!
I use this app several times a day and literally challenge myself to clear my daily list each day. The only suggestion for improvement I have is displaying the dates to-do’s in a calendar. I would like to see my dated items in a monthly calendar where I could move items by dragging them to a new date.
A two star app that would immediately become 5+ stars. The glaring missing piece? Widget for the lock screen. I have suggested this to the developers over and over. They choose to ignore it. Many others have widget capability. Consequently what would be the best reminder app out there, sadly, deserves a 2 star rating.
I downgraded this app to a 2 and it will return to a 5 when the alerts are fixed. Once I upgraded to iOS 11 the alerts stopped working. I emailed the developer to let them know that alerts were not working in iOS 11 while I was a beta tester for iOS 11 and they never responded. Now that iOS 11 has been released to the public Alerts still do not work. I have to remember to open the app and look for anything that may be due when it used to alert me automatically without opening the app. I love this app. It syncs with your own page on a web site and between the iPhone and iPad. Enter or edit at any location and all other locations are updated. This App will get a 5 from me when there is an option to show or hide completed tasks. I need to keep completed tasks so I have a history of when I completed tasks. Currently one can only delete completed tasks to stop completed tasks from showing and things are getting kind of cluttered.
I really REALLY love this app (I've used it daily since 2011) and I can't say enough about how absolutely professional and instructional the tech team is for this incredibly easy-to-use app. I had a glitch (of my OWN making) and the app support team member (talking about YOU, 'K-man') quickly answered my questions and helped me solve the prob. Great update on 7/04, by the way! Thanks again!!
Still appreciate this app a lot. Simple and efficient!! I have a ton of these apps and this one, while simple, is my favorite. I even have omni focus which cost a lot more. Would love it for the Mac as well. Keep it up developer.
Simple and easy to use. I'm able to stay on track with things I need to do on specific days and times, while keeping a list of reminders without due dates. I also have a running list for discussion topics for meetings and ideas that I want to develop at a later date. Thank you for continuing to update this app!
I use this EVERYDAY KEEPS ME ON TOP OF TO DOs AND ALL UPCOMING. BEST CHECKLIST APP, I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL OTHERS BUT THIS IS THE BEST.
Thank you for making this app! I love it. It's prefect for me to schedule my to do list. The best part about it is that the app syncs with your calendar!
Honestly, this app gets one very important thing right: information density. OmniFocus is tap in, tap out, just dealing with menus. Priorities is more like one or two very important screens with maybe an extra to do some fiddling. It just makes so much sense. Animations are quite slow though. That's my big gripe.
Perfect for recurring checklists
I've been using Priorities for a couple of years now and loving it... but what inspired me to finally write a review was the reminder that I just set to pick up my foster daughter at her pre-school. She attends the MWF mornings and every time I try to set that kind of variable in the calendar apps... it's a pain. With Priorities, it was easy to select the 'repeat' each week and check Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I've also been able to set reminders for a group that meets monthly on the 3rd Tuesday. This software then puts my reminders into the calendars. I have been so impressed with the work of Hand Carved Code that I was curious about what else they might have out. Unfortunately, all I found was one on Quotes... that I also bought... and least I sound like a fan boy (at 75), I am, but this review is unsolicited, long overdue (typical for librarians) and disconnect from the company (wherever they may be). Bottom line... best software on my iPad.
Over the past 5 years or so I have tried many remind/checklist apps. I still keep going back to this one as the best, despite it almost never being updated. The recent update gives me hope this app will still be around for a long time. I especially like how recurring items don't appear until you want them to based on your preferences. It's frustrating that Apple's Reminders app will show things that are due 1 year from now, & there doesn't seem to be a way to hide that. You can control things like that here in Priorities. Now... Please make an Apple Watch version!!!
I AM SO HAPPY THIS APP HAS BEEN UPDATED. I was worried the developers would abandon this app, but they didn't. I run my life with this app! This is absolutely the best to do list in the app store. I have tried many of them. It is simple, clean and easy to use with great features that do not complicate its usage. It has templates for repeated tasks, sub lists, easy reminders, quick backups, web access, and I could keep going. . . .
Deleted items keep returning. I cannot recommend this app.
Returned to this after a long hiatus, and it's still one of the best. Wish it had a widget, otherwise pretty perfect.
I've tried all of the major todo list / simple project management apps, and I keep coming back to Priorities. It has an intuitive interface with the right balance of utility and complexity. I keep it docked as one of the four main apps, and use it throughout the day. The perfect synchronization across the web and iPad is a real time saver. I hope an Apple Watch extension is in the works... a feature I would gladly pay extra $$. Highly recommended!
